Joyce Woodson is proud to announce the release of Living The Western Dream - her long-awaited new album of all original western songs.

Joyce has been a favorite on the Cowboy Poetry and Music circuit these past 15 years and this is her fourth album of original songs. She has shared the stage with such western music greats as Belinda Gail, Liz Masterson, Dave Stamey, and Jean Prescott and performed at top folk and western clubs and festivals such as the Elko National Cowboy Poetry and Music Gathering in Nevada, the Cochise Cowboy Gathering in Arizona, and the Autry Museum of Western Heritage in California. Her voice has been described as warm, soothing, and intimate.

Guitarist John Jorgenson brings his high level of musicianship to this collection of songs. He is well known as a Django style gypsy jazz guitarist and has toured the world with Elton John.

Gabe Witcher adds his stunning fiddle and mandolin talent to each track. He is a founding member of Punch Brothers, and has performed with the Dave Rawlings Machine and Old Crow Medicine Show.

Her title song "Living the Western Dream" opens the collection with a light western meditation on nature. "Girl On A Pony" deals deftly with the heartache of caring for a parent with dementia. "Thank Jack" is a fun, upbeat swing song about Jack A. Weil - the inventor of the snap on the cowboy shirt. Joyce's two ballads "A Cowboy Far From Home" and "A Cowboy's Exhortation" harken back to old-time cowboy songs focusing on the hardships of working on the trail. "The Hidden Trail" uses soft guitar, pedal steel, and vibes to evoke a serene scene again in nature.

"Don and Diane" celebrates falling in love in the west as does "Souvenir" which is about taking a vacation in South Dakota. The comical "She's in Love With Her Horse" and the poignant true story-song "He Sang For Me" round out the album. Joyce's time singing at the Bright Angel Hotel at the south rim of the Grand Canyon inspired her song "You Couldn't Buy That View". It's the true story of meeting a mule wrangler who just got off the trail and came to one of her gigs at the bar at the hotel and the conversation that ensued.

This album was co-produced by Marty Rifkin and Joyce Woodson. Marty has worked as a musician (pedal steel, dobro) with such greats as Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, and Jewel. He was nominated Best Musician of the Year by the California Country Music Association (CCMA) 10 years in a row.

Joyce Woodson is a Grammy-nominated performer and the recipient of Song of the Year from the Western Music Association in 2008 for her song "If I Hadn't Seen the West" as well as Songwriter of the Year in 2014 for her multiple cuts by other western music artists.
